Connection is a core value of Total Family, and shared experiences are a powerful way to deepen those bonds. Let's be honest, sometimes the people you care about the most are the hardest to talk to. In modern life, families encounter significant obstacles to staying connected: physical distance, generational divides, and the splintering effect of personalized algorithm-driven internet content, optimized for engagement (and advertisers). We need more common ground.
Relationships and connections aren't just nice to have; they're crucial for our long-term health and happiness. The term for actively working on your relationships is Social Fitness. Say it with me: if a relationship is important to you, it's your responsibility. BUT, we want to help, so allow us to introduce the Family Book Club podcast.
Family Book Club offers a practical and enjoyable way for families to connect through reading and discussing books. Each episode will focus on a selected book that is engaging and relevant, with themes that resonate across generations and blended families. By reading (or listening to) the same book, families create a common language, strengthen relationships, and, most importantly, start talking about something besides the weather.
How It Works
- Read or Listen to the Book: Read the book in any format that suits themβprint, e-book, or audiobook.
- Subscribe to the Podcast: Available on all major platforms. There are spoilers so read the book before listening. Leave 5 star reviews π
- Host a Book Club of Your Own: Organize a book club meeting to discuss the book, either over video or in person.
Get Involved
- Family Offices: You now have a turnkey way to deepen your conversations with clients and their families. Maybe they'll even let you join their book club? Not a bad way to get to know the family π
- Families: Just get started. Pick one book, give everyone enough time to read it, then get together and follow the same format as our podcast. Feel free to disagree and make fun of the hosts all you want.
